Quiz Night – Details

We will be having a quiz night on Saturday, April 26th, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. in Sutton Courtenay Village Hall (OX14 4BB).

Tickets are £12 per person from a choir member or and include a ploughman’s supper.

Spring 2025 Concert

Our Spring concert in 2025 is the Brahms Ein Deutsches Requiem, which will be performed on Sunday, March 30th, 2025, at 7:30 p.m., in All Saints’ Church, Sutton Courtenay (OX14 4AE).

Upcoming Concert – March 2025

We’ve just started rehearsing Brahm’s profound and moving work, his Deutsches Requiem (German Requiem). We will be performing it on Sunday 30th March at 7:30 pm in All Saints Church, Sutton Courtenay.

Unlike traditional requiems, which are often liturgical, Brahms’ piece is a humanistic reflection on life, loss, and consolation. If you’re interesting in singing with us please contact our chairman or secretary.

Quiz Night – Save the date!

We will be hosting another of our popular quiz nights in Sutton Courtenay Village Hall (OX14 4BB) on Saturday 26th April 2025 at 7:30 pm. There will be a cash bar and ploughman’s supper. All are welcome! Ticket information will be posted closer to the time.

Patrick Salisbury Prize 2024

Nathaniel Brown (front) received the 2024 Patrick Salisbury Prize for Endeavour. Behind him, left to right, are his father, Sandra Knowles, who presented the prize on behalf of the choir and Nathaniel’s teacher, Antonia King.

We’re pleased to announce that the 2024 Patrick Salisbury Prize for Endeavour has been awarded to Nathaniel Brown at the Matrix Art Centre. His teacher, Antonia King commended Nathaniel for the award:

Nathaniel is just about to graduate from the entire Yamaha course pathway. He has shown consistent diligence and enthusiasm throughout his final course with me – it has been a pleasure to have him in the class. I wish him the best of luck for his piano grade in October!

Patrick Salisbury Prize Winner 2023

Sandra recently presented the Patrick Salisbury Prize for Endeavour at the Matrix Art Centre in Sutton Courtenay. Esme Nkum is this year’s recipient. Her instructor, Oliver, had this to say:

Esme is an enthusiastic member of the music class, often volunteering to answer questions and demonstrate the answer. Her commitment to practicing at home and sharing her achievements with friends makes her a deserving nominee. Keep it up, Esme!
